General Information and Expectations
- Children under the age of 10 should not be left unattended at the arena - both on the ice or in the stands.
- All skaters and parents will treat Coaches, Program Assistants, Board Members (and other volunteers) and Arena staff with respect at all times. Any issues should be directed to our President at skateharrow@live.ca or to the Head Coach or Board Member in attendance at the time.
- Parents and spectators are not permitted on the Coaches bench without express permission from a coach. Parents and spectators are not to interrupt coaches during session time. Your skater may exit the ice if you need to see them.
- ONLY Skate Canada registered Coaches, Skaters, Program Assistants and Board Members are allowed to enter the ice surface.
- Any accident must be reported to Skate Harrow in a timely manner (at the time of incident)
- All dressing rooms are designated as co-gender and as such, only skates should be changed in the change rooms. Washrooms should be used for clothing changes and any other time privacy is required.
- Young skaters and sibling should not be left unattended to "play" in the dressing rooms.
- Skate Harrow is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Do not leave valuable items unattended.
- Skaters and parents are asked to respect others belongings and not touch or move others stuff.
- If you have choosen to OPT OUT of receiving News and Information through Uplifter, please understand that this may mean you will miss important updates and information as well as Invoice and Payment reminders.
Appropriate Attire:
ALL Skaters are expected to be dressed in appropriate attire:
PRECANSKATE AND CANSKATE
- Gloves or mittens are REQUIRED
- ONLY a CSA approved helmet, with our without face mask (hockey helmet) is allowed up to and including the completion of badge 5. Long hair should be tied back underneath. No other helmet is allowed and your child will not be allowed to skate if they are not wearing a properly fitted CSA approved helmet.
- Dress warmly in layers (NO snowpants or bulky winter jackets as it inhibits movement).
- Figure Skates or Hockey Skates (NO molded or plastic boots). Proper skates make a world of difference in how well your child will be able to skate.
STARSKATE - Junior, Intermediate, Senior
- Hair MUST be tied back at all times
- Gloves or mittens should be worn
- Tights, skating skirts, athletic pants, leggings (NO Jeans or jogging pants)
- NO hoods up on sweatshirts (covering the head)
- NO airpods
- Skate Harrow apparel is encouraged
- We Recommend to Purchase equipment at Belle River Source for Sports OR Podium Sports Special Tee's & Gifts. Skate Sharpening is recommended to be done at Maximum Edge
- An additional StarSkate Code of Conduct will be sent to Junior, Intermediate and Senior Skaters.
